Abstract
The purpose of this study is to validate the Complex Trauma Inventory(CTI) originally developed by Litvin, Kaminski & Riggs(2017) in the Korean context with factor analysis. The CTI was developed based on the PTSD(Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) definition and a new disorder CPTSD (Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) of the newly revised International Classification of Diseases(ICD-11). This study analyzed 160 copies of 210 college students who reported having traumatic incidents. Results of this study, CTI score was significantly different between males and females, and also among different types of trauma, but not across different age groups. Confirmatory factor analysis supported two factors second-order model, each measured by 3 first-order factors and all factors showed adequate internal consistency for PTSD and DSO(disturbances in self -organization). Convergent and incremental validity of the CTI were good with other CPTSD scale (SIDES-SR) and the core belief scale(CBI). The results indicate that the psychometric properties of the scale were valid to use for Korean sample. Implications and limitations of the study, and suggestions for future research are discussed.
